CLEAN INSIGHTS / Prevention
Using cleaning records to recognise changes in IT environments
Comparable cleaning records show where deposits recur and conditions change. They provide observations that support decisions about ongoing equipment care.

Compare the same locations over time
A report becomes more useful when it identifies the room, rack and surface concerned. Compare the same cabinet tops over similar periods, for example. Photographs help where permitted and taken consistently. Different angles or elapsed periods can otherwise distort the comparison. Our cleaning documentation assigns these comparison findings to the relevant area or device.
Relate recurring deposits to changes
If new deposits appear after refurbishment, record that event alongside the finding. The same applies to changed transport routes or more frequent access. A report can highlight a possible connection without proving the cause. Repeated observations provide a concrete starting point for further investigation.
Pass findings to the right decision-maker
Report deposits, visible moisture traces and other anomalies to the responsible equipment owner. They decide on technical investigation, repair or replacement. The cleaning record provides a traceable account of observations and work completed.
Describe value without unsupported promises
Cleaning supports care of IT and technical installations. It cannot by itself establish a particular lifespan extension or guaranteed availability. The practical value of the record lies in traceable changes and a better basis for subsequent care decisions.
FOR YOUR PLANNING
Your checklist at a glance
- Are comparison locations clearly identified?
- Are elapsed time and relevant events recorded?
- Are observations separated from technical diagnosis?
